She has been in the development field since 1983, with experience in corporate sponsorships, special events, board/membership development, grant writing, special campaigns, major gift solicitation and capital campaigns. A recognized leader in the profession, Talisman regularly speaks at conferences and events internationally and teaches a variety of fund raising topics. She has by-lined articles, been profiled in many publications and is often called upon by the media for her insight and expertise. Talisman holds a bachelor's degree from Case Western Reserve University and continues her professional education by attending workshops and classes at institutions such as the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) local and international conferences, BoardSource, The Institute for Charitable Giving and the Indiana University School of Philanthropy. |
Barbara Talisman is a member of the Washington D.C. and Chicago chapters of the AFP and serves on both boards. She is an active volunteer in her community and serves on the board of directors of several not-for-profit organizations. "Barbara truly reaches out to the client and is attentive to our needs.
